Celebrity Fashion – 5 Trends This Summer

By  |

Celebrities are a great source of fashion inspiration for any season.  They have the latest looks from the top designers that fit the season and fashion forward status.  Though many of us do not have the budget to spend on the latest designer duds, there are great ways to mimic these celebrity fashions from our favourite famous individuals for less.  This summer, look into buying one of these five summer trends, they are available in many different budget ranges and will soon have you looking and feeling like a celebrity.

Lace

Lace seems to come and go as the fabric of choice, and this summer, it is in.  Whether it is a sheer lace top with a peekaboo bra underneath or a lace trimmed blouse for the office, this material is a top choice among celebrities.  The lace look does not have to be designed from the highest priced materials.  Instead, many specialty stores or department stores will have lace options that look like the more expensive fabric but are synthetic and crafted less intensively than the fancier lace options.  Try this look if you want to get that sexy edge like Kim Kardashian or the sophisticated lace look of Emma Watson.

Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses have been making a fashion presence since the 1940’s and are back again this season as one of the hottest summer trends.  These dresses, sometimes referred to as sundresses, are usually long to mid-calf in length.  The top takes on the feel of any summer outfit, with styles that are halter and those that take on the bandeau or tube top appeal.  The dresses can be dressed up or dressed down with the right accessories and can be a perfect addition to any resort or holiday luggage.  The colours of dresses are as diverse as the individuals that wear them, and this trend has been seen on several famous stars this season including Vanessa Hudgens, Rachel Zoe, and Jessica Alba.

Elevated Mules

Shoes are also getting a modern makeover this summer with the classic mule being elevated to new heights, literally.  These backless shoes are being given a higher than ever heel and designer embellishments like rhinestones and details that will leave the feet as sparkly as the rest of your outfit.  These are “get noticed” shoes that many celebrities are choosing to wear to make their summer wardrobe standout.  You can see them on the famous feet of Rachel Bilson and Alexa Chung.

Skins

Also popular this year in the way of unique fashions and style trends are “in purses”.  This summer, animal prints and skins are extremely popular to carry all of those summer goodies from place to place.  Most popular seems to be the patterns of snake print that many of the celebrities are wearing and that have graced the runways in preparation for this time of year.  These skins can come in a wide variety of colours and give that style meets fun meets professional appeal look.  This is a popular style that has been seen on the incomparable Mariah Carey this summer season.

Bright Colours

One of the hottest summer trends for this year are the use of bright colours and colour blocking on clothing and hair as well.  Bright hues of pinks, greens and blues are being carried throughout the wardrobe offerings this season and have transferred to the hairstyles that many are wearing as well.  These colours take on a “get noticed” flare with attention grabbing styles for all ages.  No longer are people wearing the tans and greens of summers past, these colours all about putting yourself out there and getting the attention that you deserve.  Stars like Katy Perry have truly embraced this trend and carried the look throughout their summer travels.
