Top Beauty Taboo’s
We are all guilty of committing beauty mistakes more often than we realize. Not knowing we can be doing more harm to our skin than doing it good. We insist on listening to hearsay or even passed on advice. Thus result into neglecting the proper care our skin needs.
Taboo 1:
Sleeping with makeup on – You had a night out with your girlfriends, had one too many drinks and before you know it you’re already fast asleep. Obviously you’ll be washing off your face the next day but leaving chemicals on your skin can cause serious damage. It is known to be one the biggest factor of having clogged pores and acne. If you think you’ll be too tired to deal with your makeup at the end of a long day, at least prepare some makeup wipes to give yourself a quick clean-up before snoozing.
Taboo 2:
Popping Your Zits – We’ve all had our days, and it is very understandable how frustrating it can be to walk around with a blemish in the face. In such circumstance, we are most often caught picking in our face that can eventually leave to infection, broken blood vessel or worst, depressed scars. Best treatment recommended is trying out benzyl peroxide that comes in different percentage or strength all depending on the severity of the acne. Popping should only be considered if it is absolutely necessary. If one has to pop, use a cotton swab dab in lukewarm water or a lukewarm compress over to bring the puss up to the surface and then squeeze very gently. Right after, wash hands thoroughly and avoid touching the open skin.
Taboo 3:
Over Moisturizing – Yes we’ve all heard of it, we need to moisturize to keep our face smooth and supple. As a matter of fact, over slathering our face with crèmes is not necessarily all good. Overdoing moisturizers can trigger a break out as the skin is not able to breathe properly. It is best to keep it light and choose moisturizers made specifically for the season. For the acne prone use serum based to keep your pores clean and unclogged. General rule, anything that is too much isn’t good.
