DIY Nail Polish shade from Old Makeup
Are you a make-up lover? I sure am. I frequently shop for new eye shadows and even blush-on to the point that I end up with quite a few just sitting around my drawer and makeup bag. There’s nothing wrong with shopping for a few makeup every once in a while except if they are not put to good use it turns out to be a waste of hard-earned money. Don’t get me wrong, there are tons of make-up sales going all over shops and even online but the point is we still paid for it.
Since I am compulsive shopper, especially on “SALE” since it is very tempting and makes you feel like you are saving more… So I can’t simply discard my old makeup. I’ve decided to simply store it away but that is simply not enough for me. Up until I thought of making something else out of my old makeup. This time, my DIY share would be making your own shade of Nail Polish out of your old eye shadow or blush-on.
With this method I can create my own color and design and put my old makeup to good use again. I was able to create sparkly shade, pastel or candy colored shade, or even a mix swirls of colors. Since this would most likely be your first time, I am going to share a basic tutorial that is very easy to follow.
You Will Need:
- Nail Polish Remover
- Transparent Nail Polish
- Old Eye Shadow or Blush-on
- Brush
- Nail File [or anything pointy]
- Hair Pin
- Container
- Glitter [optional]

Steps:
1. First scrape off some of your eyeshadow and place it in a small container. I have used a Nail File to scratch and powderized any chunks of the makeup. You can mix different colors to create different shades.
2. Add some transparent nail polish in the powderized makeup.
3. Add a few drops [2-3] of the Nail Polish remover to soften up the mixture.
4. Mix it altogether using the hairpin
5. Add some glitters if preferred and apply like a regular nail polish.

This home made Nail Polish Shade dries up fast and creates a Matte like effect. Overall, it took me less than 10 minutes to finish up this polish including the application to my nails.
