6 Of The Most Wild And Wacky Shoes To Hit The Runway

Looks from the 1940’s have crept back onto the runway in 2012. Prada introduced a pair of very high black heels with red and white blocks all over. They have a goofy awkward appeal and might take some practice to walk in them. Overall it appears that heels are getting even higher.
Skaist-Taylor is a brand new label brought to us by the co-founders of Juicy Couture. Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor showed their offerings in the garage of Lincoln Center. They present us with black alligator skin booties with real animal tails coming out of the sides and colorful beads around the ankle. These are from the “Because The Sky Is Blue” collection. Furry tails was a common theme throughout the show.
Michael Eckhaus and his friend Zoe Latta, designers based out of New York City, have offered a platform bondage shoe. It has a flat rectangular base. The base is seen in other footwear from their collection. The ties that come from the base look like they are made of rubber. Not sure if these are even comfortable. Walking in them is probably like walking on stilts.
At New York Fashion Week 2012, The Leather Japan group made their debut with Japanese designers sporting leather goods. They are trying to bring Japanese leather products into the international market. They rocked the runway with a cleverly designed pair of flats up on top of a platform with no back support. These shoes are skyscraper ultra high.
Strange design comes to brand new heights with designer Gabriella Marina Gonzalez and her newest collection called “Your Heavy Heart Pressed Against The Dusk.” These high platform numbers are daring and seductive. Anybody dressing to be different can achieve that with these. Gabriella adds a poetic spirit to her clothing line with depressing themes not dark enough to be goth but close.
The shoes designed by Alexander McQueen which appeared in his Spring 2010 “Plato’s Atlantis” collection were worn by Lady Gaga in her video “Bad Romance.” His bizarre style is somehow tastefully beautiful. The lobster claw heels may not be for everybody. They are however artistic and wonderful.
